On the road again on a two day mystery trip. Passengers have no idea where or what. They keep trying to trip me up but so far so good.
Had a great first day visiting The Rutherford B. Hayes presidential mansion and heard the beautiful love story about President Hayes and his wife Lucy. Next, we had a delicious pasta bar lunch in downtown Freemont, OH at the Down Thyme Cafe followed by chocolate and wine tasting. Onward to the historic Sandusky County jail and dungeon. We were told ghost stories and interesting background on some of the colorful people who were held in the jail and some who were sent to the hanging gallows (which is still there).
A little rest at our hotel and then on to the TonyLou Awards, a murder mystery dinner show. Many of our passengers were nominated for awards and some even won an actual award. It was fun guessing “who done it” and the winner won a lovely gift basket.
Day 2 found us at a beautiful brunch followed by Andrew Martin’s magic show. Everyone was included in the illusions; it was a wonderful show and a great time. Here’s the magician at work:
We left Freemont and headed to Cleveland for a final stop at “The Christmas Story” house, museum and gift shop. Being in the actual house where the movie was filmed was very interesting. Our guide told us many facts and trivia about the making of the movie. Lots of shopping at the gift shop finished up our great Sweetheart Mystery trip.
